KODUR is a village in Malappuram district in the state of Kerala, India. Its situated adjacent to Malappuram city and is considered as an outgrowth of the city. Kodur is famous for its trading in vegetables mainly "Kumbalanaga" (ash gourd). So it also got a second name called "Kumbalanga Kodur". The Panchayat ruling party is IUML headed by (Rajula Pelathodi) and Vice President is (C.P Mohammed Shaji). Kodur covers about 19 wards. The kodur panchayat office is located in the ward called Thanikkal. Kodur is part of Malappuram Assembly constituency as well as Malappuram (Lok Sabha constituency).[1]
